Would broader education on Sleep Paralysis lower the number of reported ghost sightings and alien abductions?
I suffer from incidents of Sleep Paralysis which scared the crap out of me as a young teen. When I educated myself on this condition I learned how to reduce the frequency of occurrences and no longer was frightened when the event occurs.
“Over the centuries, symptoms of sleep paralysis have been described in many ways and often attributed to an “evil” presence: unseen night demons in ancient times, the old hag in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, and alien abductors”
http://www.webmd.com/sleep-disorders/guide/sleep-paralysis
I have had a couple brief episodes of sleep paralysis when I was a teenager. I was abducted by aliens as well so I assume the incidents are related. There is no mistake about the abduction, my experience with the abusive aliens is extensive.
Early Classes = Sleepy Teens (Duh!)

Respironics Actiwatch Score System, Diagnoses Sleep Disorders $2629.99 Actiwatch Score System Actiwatch Score — Like all of our Actiwatches, the AW-Score actigraph uses actigraphy principles to record activity information and can be used to analyze sleep quality. In addition to the objective activity data, Actiwatch-Score allows for recording subjective scores for any parameter that can be classified from 0-15 (scale is programmable), providing a strong enhancement to Patient Diaries. The unique combination of activity and scoring provides an excellent way to correlate activity with other subjective data normally collected by a patient diary. It can also be used to document the effectiveness of interventions on conditions of interest. The Actiwatch-Score includes a programmable alarm to prompt the patient to enter a quantifiable score. Alarms can be set to a schedule or to sound at random intervals.
